ERNESTO GUIDO
Hi Everyone, I’d like to share that the following recent datasets via AUS-2-CMOS: -Dark Tower (LRGB + H) -Dark Wolf - Fenrir Nebula Widefield (LRGB + H) can be combined to create a small mosaic. The image below is a manual stitch of the two preview images, demonstrating the field covered by the mosaic: Link to all the datasets for this mosaic: https://app.telescope.live/click-grab/all?telescope=63&target=dark To help you process the TL mosaics we have tutorials available for our users on our platform: https://telescope.live/search/tutorials?keys=mosaic Clear Skies, Ernesto
Tryggve Dyrvik
Nice, I already have several one-click's DarkTower. Question: how many one-click datasets (each appr. 1 h) do you recommend to download? In general?
ERNESTO GUIDO
Hi Tryggve, For astrophotography, especially when working with deep-sky objects like galaxies and nebulae, the amount of data you collect can significantly impact the final image quality. Here’s a general guideline: For brighter targets (e.g., bright galaxies or star clusters), a single one-click dataset (approximately 1 hour of data) can already produce a nice image. However, stacking multiple datasets (2-3 hours total) will improve signal-to-noise ratio, resulting in a clearer and more detailed image. For fainter targets (e.g., nebulae, distant galaxies), the more data, the better. Fainter objects benefit greatly from increased exposure time. You may want to collect 5-10 one-click datasets (5-10 hours of total exposure) or even more to bring out subtle details and reduce noise. So, while a single one-click dataset can be enough for some targets, adding more datasets will always improve the final result, particularly for faint objects where more integration time significantly enhances detail and color quality.
