ERNESTO GUIDO
Hi everyone I am excited to report here about the datasets of images for M45 Pleiades mosaic (9 panels; available in our archive) made with the CHI1-CMOS telescope in Chile! I am sure that our users will be eager to try their hand at processing this beautiful data: https://app.telescope.live/click-grab/all?telescope=59&target=pleiades I want to share here an image showing the position of each numbered panel in the mosaic. This will make it much easier for users to get started. Additionally, I am glad to see that there are a couple of renditions of the mosaic already present in the gallery. This will give a good idea of what is possible to obtain with these data. Below, for example, the final image by our tutor @Scotty Bishop
Alexander Curry
We also have the webinar covering processing mosaics in PixInsight: https://telescope.live/tutorials/mosaic-mastery-delving-deep-pixinsights-photometric-tool EDIT: We now have the fantastic guide by @Scotty Bishop for compiling this in APP:
Scotty Bishop
I was happy with the detail this had in it with only 30 second exposures and only roughly 3.5 hours of total integration split between 9 panels. I hope to see more people post this one.
Jarmo Ruuth
A good idea to post mosaic panels here! Maybe it could be done for other mosaics too? And maybe even before they are completed so others can see how many panels are planned?
ERNESTO GUIDO
Hi Jarmo. Sure, definitely. It's a very good idea. If there are also any suggestions for a new mosaic, they are welcome (maybe trying to keep the number of panels to be within the range of 4-5 panels). ERNESTO GUIDO
Hello I used the mosaic image created by Scotty (refer to the first post in this thread) to identify the missing panels in your image. It appears that panels 3 and 7 are not included in your image. Please see the attached image for reference. Clear Skies, Ernesto
